Yes, you can purchase tickets at the gate for the rally. You must buy tickets in advance for the reception
as there is very limited space available however.

We had a great meeting with a record attendance of over 90 persons present. A number of candidates or their representatives for both local and state races spoke to the group and gave inspiring talks. The Republicans of Garland County can be very proud of the great candidates we have for election this year. This truly is a great year to be a Republican in Arkansas!

When the time comes to set up a location in Hot Springs Village for the party to distribute literature, signs, etc., before you pay rent for a space, please contact me. The best way to contact me is via e-mail to Ramonaskitchen@mail.com or you may call me @ 501-922-1964

Not only is that timing highly suspect. The nominations for that award are solicited one year in advance and the nominations must be submitted by April 1st. (Very appropriate date don't you think.)

That means this was set up within only a few weeks of his assuming office which shows what depths the Nobel Peace Prize has sunk to.

"Actually, when Vice President Joe Biden heard that President Obama won the Nobel Prize, he was speechless. So, it's already doing some good." --Jay Leno

You are absolutely right. In '94 there was a groundswell of local action to make a change over a non-responsive Washington bureaucracy. As a result of many individuals acting together there were huge changes brought about in Washington that ended the steamroller headed for Hillary Care and lots of other ill-thought schemes of government intrusion in our lives. Now, 15 years later it is time to do the same again and it has to begin at the local level.

It has been said that "All politics are local". If we and other local groups from all over our country do not act then the Obama Socialist Republic of America (OSRA) will be a reality, and very quickly.

We need to contact our representatives and let them know in no uncertain terms what we think of the current direction of the country and what they must do to earn our support. We need to become active in local politics and help to shape the direction of government on a local basis. We need to contact others in our communities and respectfully point out what is going on and enlist them to join with us to make a better local community, state, and nation.

Most American voters are usually asleep and totally unaware of what is happening in government. They are simply concentrating on going to work, paying the bills, driving the kids to socker, mowing the yard, and watching mindless TV when they have time to relax. We must take every effort to see that our friends, neighbors, and acquaintances are awake now or else we, our children, and grand children will lose the rights this country has enjoyed for the last 200+ years. An informed electorate working together with good alternative solutions can prevail and turn the tide to protect nation and our way of life. The government won't do it, the news media won't, the schools won't so that means the only alternative is you and me!

In '94 the Republicans "rebranded" successfully under Gingrich and won both houses of congress. There is hope that they can do so again because Pyongyang is a really lousy neighborhood to live in.

Thinking Americans are indeed "conservative", but unfortunately, most don't often go into a "thinking" mode. Most tend to take a Pollyanaish approach that life is relative, vote for one bunch now and another next time, it doesn't really matter, everyone really wants the best and just have different ideas as to how to achieve it, etc., etc., etc. You have all heard the arguments. These voters in general vote for whatever one issue seems the biggest thing at the instant in their own little world. It has to be something that doesn't require them to take time thinking or researching before doing their "civic duty" of voting.

The average American is a dumbed down variant of an earlier version. If you have any doubt of this, look at this entertaining excerpt from one of Jay Leno's last shows. It shows what "average Americans" really are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjwkyYksrHU

Unfortunately there are guiding principles behind each of the parties and they are not the same. The Republican way is a conservative view based on the teachings of the founding fathers of our country, and unfortunately our Republican leaders have lost their way in recent years. The guiding principles of the current Democratic party is an opportunistic view of achieving power based a mixture of the teachings of Karl Marx, Benito Mussolini, and Niccolò Machiavelli. In recent years while the Republicans have lost their way, the Democrats are finding theirs. If we let them have their way it won't matter much if you live here or in Pyongyang because there will be little difference between the two.

Chuck,

A moderate to me is someone who can accept others into their realm of thought without exclusion because they do not fit your rigid idea of their beliefs. The fact that I agree with you on about 80% of your platform should not exclude me. If I have to fit the platform 100%, then you can pretty much right me off as a republican supporter. This is the rigid thought that I call the "far right".

This goes back to the point of do you want to get someone elected, or do you want to posture. Clinton and Obama got elected with votes from "moderate" and "centrists. McClain got beat because the right wing of the republican party did not support McClain. The democrats fielded Clinton and Obama as more centrist than anything, even though we knew better. Once they were elected they fell right off of the left side of the world.

I really think that the republican party needs to appeal to a broader spectrum of voters if it is to toss out the democrats. Don't underestimate the anger of the voters towards BOTH parties.

If you try to vilify moderates and throw the flag over dissenting ideas, then be prepared to lose the elections. To imply that I am not an "Patriot or American" because I don't agree with you 100% BS.
