re-branded

I am noticing the GOP is trying to “rebrand”. This is good because their betrayal of their core principles is the reason for liberalism’s skyrocketing success. However, most Americans are typically “conservative”. They just do not trust the GOP, at least the majority of voters do not. I have been highly critical of the GOP in my letters to the editor. But, since the recent losses of seats in the US House and Senate, and the bad image of the GOP, the party is re-examining its approach. I think they are on the right path. I hope they will keep it up. I do not trust the rhetoric from the party about “limited government”. The GOP needs to PROVE they are FOR limited government. But, I am hopeful, and am willing to give the GOP another shot because, unfortunately, third parties are not catching on. I would rather move to Pyongyang than be a democrat.

  • In ‘94 the Republicans “rebranded” successfully under Gingrich and won both houses of congress. There is hope that they can do so again because Pyongyang is a really lousy neighborhood to live in.

Thinking Americans are indeed “conservative”, but unfortunately, most don’t often go into a “thinking” mode. Most tend to take a Pollyanaish approach that life is relative, vote for one bunch now and another next time, it doesn’t really matter, everyone really wants the best and just have different ideas as to how to achieve it, etc., etc., etc. You have all heard the arguments. These voters in general vote for whatever one issue seems the biggest thing at the instant in their own little world. It has to be something that doesn’t require them to take time thinking or researching before doing their “civic duty” of voting.

The average American is a dumbed down variant of an earlier version. If you have any doubt of this, look at this entertaining excerpt from one of Jay Leno’s last shows. It shows what “average Americans” really are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjwkyYksrHU

Unfortunately there are guiding principles behind each of the parties and they are not the same. The Republican way is a conservative view based on the teachings of the founding fathers of our country, and unfortunately our Republican leaders have lost their way in recent years. The guiding principles of the current Democratic party is an opportunistic view of achieving power based a mixture of the teachings of Karl Marx, Benito Mussolini, and Niccolò Machiavelli. In recent years while the Republicans have lost their way, the Democrats are finding theirs. If we let them have their way it won’t matter much if you live here or in Pyongyang because there will be little difference between the two.
