Minutes of Business Meeting

November 5, 2009

Call to Order by First Vice-Chair, Sue Vaugn at 6:15 PM followed by the invocation and pledge of allegiance.

Welcome: It was reported that Chairman Gallas is at another meeting and will be joining us as soon as he is able.

Recognition of Guests: Darlene and Herbert Haus and Jim Hendrix

Recognition of Elected Officials: Justices of the Peace – Larry Griffin and Sue Vaugn, National Park Community College Board – Larry Bailey, and City Director- Pat McCabe.

Also Tommy Thompson was recognized as a candidate for the Garland County Assessor.

Secretary’s Report: Quorum established by sign in sheet with 26 members present. A motion to approve the minutes of October’s meeting as received via email was made by Larry Bailey, seconded by Jonathon Morgan, motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Susan Childs, Treasurer updated the committee on the balance of accounts and balance, report is filed for audit.

Old Business:

Committees

Lincoln Day Dinner – Sue Vaugn requested suggestions for a speaker for our annual fundraiser.

Campaign – Larry Bailey updated the committee on the status of candidates for varying positions.

Public Relations – Chuck Chattham announced the pancake breakfast raising money for the Citizens For the American Agenda.

New Business: Next month is our Christmas potluck, everyone please bring a dish.

Fourth District Report: Twila Brown announced the 4th District meeting scheduled for October 24th at which there will be a straw poll for the Us Senate candidates running for Blanche Lincoln’s seat. The guest speaker will be Chase Duggar.

Also we were reminded of the fundraiser for Bill Sample, State Senate Candidate, at the Hot Springs Country Club on November 19th.

Larry Griffin reminded everyone also that the Village Republicans meet every 2nd Tuesday at 3pm at the Coronado Center in the Village.

Next Our guest Buddy Rogers, US Senate Candidate was introduced.

  • It is a pleasure for me to be a part of the Republican Party. You are a great group of people who love Garland county and America as much as I do and are sacrificing a lot to return our nation to “One Nation Under God” and it’s foundation the U.S. Constitution. May God bless you all!!
